Voters in Alameda and Contra Costa counties are being asked to approve a $48-a-year parcel tax to avoid fare increases and service cuts for the nation’s largest bus-only transit system.
This tax increase (which would generate about $14 million a year) is necessary because of rising fuel costs and a reduction in state funding, according to AC Transit officials. Read More
